Meet Trevor Treller
Trevor Treller is a passionate wine professional, certified sommelier, educator, and the founder and owner of Terroir Fine Wine in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho — one of North Idaho’s most celebrated boutique wine experiences. Driven by a lifelong fascination with wine’s history, culture, and sensory depth, Trevor has dedicated nearly three decades to exploring the world of wine through hospitality, education, and community engagement.
Trevor’s journey in the wine world began more than 25 years ago, rooted in fine dining service, private wine tours, and leadership roles in high-end retail wine operations. Over time, his curiosity and respect for the craft evolved into formal training and certification as a sommelier — a credential that reflects both deep theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise in wine tasting, pairing, and terroir appreciation.
In 2022, Trevor opened Terroir Fine Wine, a curated wine boutique and club that has quickly become a destination for wine lovers throughout the Inland Northwest. Named after the French concept that captures how a wine’s environment — from soil to climate to landscape — shapes its character, the shop reflects Trevor’s belief that wine is not just a beverage, but a story in a bottle. At Terroir, guests are invited to explore that story: through guided tastings, monthly wine club selections, and educational classes that demystify wine and make it accessible and joyful for everyone.
Trevor’s approach to wine education is warm, engaging, and grounded. He prides himself on breaking down complex topics — like varietal characteristics, pairing principles, and regional influences — into experiences that are both informative and enjoyable. Whether he’s leading a tasting night, curating unique bottles, or simply sharing a favorite wine recommendation, Trevor’s passion for connecting people with great wine and great conversation is unmistakable.
Beyond his expertise behind the counter, Trevor is an active participant in the local community, co-hosting wine events and partnering with other businesses to bring enriching experiences to Coeur d’Alene. His commitment to hospitality and education has helped cultivate a vibrant local wine culture, inspiring both newcomers and seasoned oenophiles alike.
Trevor’s personal philosophy is simple: wine should be a source of connection — to people, to place, and to the stories that make every bottle unique. Through Terroir Fine Wine, he continues to share that philosophy with everyone who walks through the doors.
